Renaissance Minerals receives gold mining exploration license in Thbong Khmom

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has given license to Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) to explore for gold in Choam Tamao commune, Memot district of Tbong Khmum province after the firm recently announced Cambodia’s first commercial gold mining industry in Mondulkiri province in June.

The matter was discussed in detail between Tbong Khmum Governor HE Cheam Chansophoan during the meeting with company representatives on Thursday 9 September.

Regarding gold production in Cambodia, PM Samdech Hun Sen announced in August that through the operation of Renaissance Minerals, Cambodia can extract 137 kilograms of gold on average per month or 3 tons per year. (Read more)

As of mid-August, the first 59 kilograms of gold have been exported from Cambodia for refining in Australia, while the company plans to export the second shipment of 100 kilograms soon.(Read more)
