PM Hun Sen to Break Ground on Koh Norea Bridge Project on 26 October

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen will break ground on the construction of a cable-stayed bridge connecting Koh Pich to Koh Norea in late October, according to his speech during the grand opening ceremony of Prince Manor on the morning of 07 October.

“On 26 October, I will break-ground on another construction site, a concrete bridge connecting Koh Pich to Koh Norea. We will continue to build more infrastructure! Whatever we want to do, we will do it. We don’t care about what others say,” PM Hun Sen said.

However, the Overseas Cambodian Investment Company (OCIC) has yet to reveal the details of the project.

Nonetheless, according to a Ministry of Economy and Finance report, OCIC in May requested tax relief for the import of equipment, machinery, and materials to build the bridge, which is worth over US$40 million. (Read more)

Besides the bridge, OCIC’s mega plan is to transform 100 hectares of land in Koh Norea into a rich commercial city with an investment of over US$2 billion. (Read more)
