Over 12,000 Seats Installed in Morodok Techo Stadium, Completion Date Set for May 2021

To date, the Chinese-funded Morodok Techo Stadium has already been equipped with over 12,000 seats, while the overall construction is also scheduled for completion by May this year.

Secretary-General of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee Vath Chamroeun said on 23 March that with 12,000 seats ready, over 40,000 seats remain.

“With the current average pace of installing 800 seats per day, the seat installing work should be done by April while the overall work will follow in May,” he said.

The stadium is being built by China State Construction Engineering Corporation on over 94 hectares in Prek Ta Sek commune, Russey Keo district with US$160 million of Chinese grant aid.

With ground broken in April 2017, the stadium will be able to accommodate over 60,000 visitors upon completion and will be ready to host the 32nd SEA Games in 2023. (Read more)
