CDC approves three major development projects worth over US$600 million

The Cambodian government, through the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), has recently given permits to three firms to invest a total of US$662 million in establishing a hospital, a shopping mall, and a multipurpose resort in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

The first project is an investment of approximately US$478 million by Royal Cambodian Hospital Co Ltd in constructing and operating a 1,500-bed hospital. The project is located along Samdech Hun Sen Blvd in Choeung Ek Commune, Dangkor District, Phnom Penh.

The second project is a US$113.9 million supermarket located in Meanchey District, via an investment by Chip Mong Retail Co., Ltd.

Meanwhile, the third project is a US$71.7 million multi-service resort development project invested in by Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium and located in Siem Reap province.

According to a CDC press release, the three projects will create more than 1,000 jobs for local people.

Regarding the country’s development, CDC has recently given permits to four firms to invest a total of approximately US$25 million in establishing their construction material businesses in Cambodia in Sihanoukville and Svay Rieng. (Read More)
