Cambodia-Singapore Draft Agreement for Phnom Penh Logistics Centre Project

The draft agreement between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and Singaporean firm YHC to build a Logistics Centre in Phnom Penh, has been completed. Both parties are currently reviewing the content before moving to the next stage.

MPWT Minister HE Sun Chanthol said during the meeting with the Ministry of Economy and Finance on 27 October that the responsible officials are reassessing the draft agreement at this stage to ensure the project will bring the most benefit to the nation.

According to HE Sun, the Phnom Penh Logistics or Phnom Penh SuperPort+ is in line with the Cambodian Logistics Master Plan, aiming to turn Cambodia into a regional logistics centre serving cross-border transportation between Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos. (Read more)

He added that the project would also help boost the transportation sector, create jobs, boost the national economy as well.

The two ministries also discussed the infrastructure enhancement plans for land borders nationwide. (Read more)
