Cambodia Gold Mining Set for Late 2021

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) has set a goal to extract gold mine in its licensed location in Mondulkiri province by late 2021, as the firm is accelerating preparation procedures.

Director-General of Mines at Ministry of Mines and Energy HE Yos Monirath said that the mine extraction will be made from one shaft at a depth of 100m.

The extracted gold ore will be shipped to foreign countries for purification as Cambodia does not have any factories for gold purification, he said.

“As planned, the amount of gold is about 100,000 ounces per year and the gold will be exported to countries that recognise the quality of gold extracted in Cambodia. Those countries include Singapore and Australia, where the gold will be purified for 99.9% gold,” said HE Monirath said.

HE Monirath added a ton of soil from is expected to produce approximately 2.2 gram of gold.
